A Healthier Happy Hour for the New Year…Kombucha Cocktails to the Rescue!


The New Year has arrived and everything from your gym routine to your diet to shed those post-holiday pounds is in full motion. Unfortunately, one of the things that doesn’t change is the calorie count in those weekly happy hour drinks. A healthy, new trend picking up steam are infused kombucha cocktails. Instead of regular mixers like juice or soda, these drinks are crafted with high quality, detoxifying Kombucha and fresh fruits and herbs. Not only does it satisfy the taste buds, it’s friendlier on the waistline.

*Kombucha is any of a variety of fermented lightly effervescent sweetened green or black tea beverage that is commonly used as a functional beverage for its health benefits. If you’re favorite bar doesn’t have these specialty drinks, fill up your growler with some yummy Kombucha and mix it up at home… after your work out of course!

Kombucha Libre:
4 ounces of Beet Ginger Kombucha
4 ounces of tequila (we recommend Reposado)
Fresh orange juice
Fresh lime juice
½ tablespoon of simple syrup
Sliced jalapenos and cilantro for garnish only

In a shaker, combine the liquids over ice and shake your bon bon for 30 seconds. This recipe makes two kombucha cocktails. To spice things up, garnish with sliced jalapenos and cilantro sprigs.
