The temperatures in Central Oregon are finally rising and that means we’re all ready to start hiking, camping and of course outdoor drinking! Twist Cocktails has a plethora of warm weather cocktails that we absolutely love to share. This month, we’re highlighting beer cocktails – a hefty beverage that’s perfect for a Sunday brunch, a late afternoon meal or just sitting by the water…
If you’re traveling in Mexico or Latin America, there are hundreds of variations of the Michelada, one our favorite beer cocktails. Some are tart, some are super spicy, some will knock you flat on your ass after just one!
Central Oregon Michelada Magnifico: (8 servings)
1 32-oz bottle of chilled Clamato (about 4 cups)
1 32-oz. bottle or 3 12-oz. bottles chilled Mexican lager (we like Modelo or Tecate)
12 ounces of Crater Lake Vodka
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. hot Tabasco
1 Tbsp. of honey
1 tsp. of smoked paprika
2 Tbsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
Lime wedges (for rimming and garnish)
Mix Clamato, beer, vodka, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, and honey in a large pitcher. Mix smoked paprika, salt and chili powder on a small plate. Rub rims of pint glasses with lime wedges and dip in spice mixture. Fill glasses with ice, add Michelada mixture, and garnish with lime wedges.
