There’s no better way to ring in the New Year than with good friends, delicious food and sexy champagne cocktails. Whether it’s a communal punch or a DIY bubbly bar, champagne is a must have for your casual or fancy bash. Using alternatives like Brut, sparkling wine or Prosecco will not only stretch your budget as some champagnes can get pricey, but will give your guests a variety of flavors.
We like the DIY approach so your guests can customize their drinks.
Champagne, Brut, Prosecco, Moscato (preferably dry selections)
1 bottle of flavored liqueur (we like something fruity or a chocolate liqueur)
Fresh raspberries, strawberries, cranberries and lemon wedges (amounts vary)
Besides champagne glasses, containers for your additives and small spoons, make some simple cocktail menus so your guests have multiple yummy choices.
Example Champagne Cocktails:
Classic Mimosa – 1 part champagne, 1 part orange juice, garnish with fruit of your choice. “Manmosas” are best served in pint glasses.
Luscious Lemon – Toss a sugar cube and a lemon wedge in a chilled champagne glass, pour in some bubbly, garnish with fruit or mint.
Minty Midnight Kiss – Pour 1 ounce of chocolate liqueur in glass, fill rest of glass with champagne, garnish with fresh mint and a kiss at midnight!
Happy New Year!
