Cranberry-Old-Fashioned1
While the fire is roaring and the smell of turkey fills the air, get your party started with Cranberry Old Fashioneds – a delicious twist to traditional Thanksgiving cocktails and a true crowd pleaser!  This holiday classic pairs well with a simple appetizer like deviled eggs or baked brie.
Cranberry Old Fashioned:
8 frozen or fresh cranberries
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
2 inches (1 strip) orange zest
1 tablespoon of water
2 ounces of bourbon
Directions:
Muddle the cranberries, sugar, bitters and orange zest with water in a cocktail glass until the sugar completely dissolves. Add the ice cubes and bourbon. If the cocktail is too strong, gently add more water. Garnish with a lime or a sprig of rosemary.
These Thanksgiving cocktails are best made individually but can be made as a communal punch with cranberry juice. Increase your ingredients, taste as you go and be careful when you add the bitters. Enjoy!
