Yo ho! Tuesday, August 16th is National Rum Day and today we’re celebrating by counting down all things rum. There are rum recipes for every season, but the best cocktails are the summer ones! Think pina colada, mojito or planters punch and it instantly transports you to a tropical beach, sipping away under a palm tree. Rum isn’t just for drinks, there are several desserts that call for rum, both light and dark.

10. Rum is made from sugarcane byproducts such as molasses or straight from sugarcane juice and is distilled in oak barrels.

Coca Cola
Splash of fresh lime juice
Ice
