Even though the Rose’ wine trend technically started last summer, it’s popularity is still going strong this season. From the NY Hamptons to the streets of Miami to restaurants in Portland – Rose’ wine is being scooped up and guzzled as fast as it’s being produced.
The Rose’ wine making process is very unique. Using the skin contact method, the skins from black grapes stay in contact with the juice for one to three days. The longer the contact, the darker the wine becomes. Most Rose’s are a pale blush pink to a darker grapefruit color. Rose’ wine can range from $12 to $400!
If you’ve been a devoted drinker of Rose’ already, then we have a cocktail for you! Twist has come up with a refreshing summer cocktail using Rose’ wine that is very popular for bridal showers, garden parties and summer wedding receptions. Pairs well with light appetizers.
Rose Sangria: (one cocktail)
3 oz of fruity Rose’
1 1/2 oz fresh orange juice
1/2 oz of Presidente Brandy
1/2 oz of Cointreau
2 1/2 oz of fresh lemonade
Lemons and limes for garnish
Preparation: Put liquids into a chilled glass, stir then add fresh ice. Garnish with lemon or lime or both. For large batches, soak your fruit of choice in Brandy over night, then add the rest of the ingredients to a punch bowl and serve over ice.
