Summer Watermelon Prosecco Punch
Nothing says summer like refreshing, juicy watermelon. It’s a staple for picnics, pool parties, camping trips and summer wedding receptions. From salads to desserts to cocktails – watermelon is an essential ingredient for seasonal recipes. Here at Twist Cocktails, we love to use watermelon puree in several of our mixtures because it adds an extra layer of flavor.
Today we’re sharing one of our favorite summer cocktails, Watermelon Prosecco Punch. This delicious drink has the very freshest of ingredients and is a true crowd pleaser. It pairs well with light and healthy appetizers – perfect for an afternoon pool party or day at the beach.
Watermelon Prosecco Punch: (serves 8)
1 medium seedless watermelon
1 pint of blackberries
1 cup of Crater Lake Vodka
1 cup of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 chilled bottle of Prosecco
Watermelon wedges and large mint leaves for garnish
Preparation: Cut the watermelon into several 1 inch cubes. Make sure all the rind is off. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Arrange watermelon cubes and blackberries on the baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours. In a 2-quart pitcher, stir together the vodka, St-Germain, lime juice and Prosecco. Add the frozen fruit and stir gently to combine everything. Pour carefully into chilled cocktail glasses, garnish with watermelon wedges and mint leaves, serve immediately. If you’re serving a larger party, double or triple recipe in a punch bowl.
Picking the perfect Prosecco: Proseccos can range from dry to fruity to floral. Dry varieties are good for bellinis, while fruity types are better for punches and wine cocktails.
